Breaking news as just a little while ago, Papua New Guinea, received a large 7.1 earthquake from the "Ring of Fire". It was closest to the city of Lae, but since it originated so far underground, little damage and no deaths have been reported as of yet. It was estimated to be 75 miles into the crust, which is almost twice as deep as the Mexican quake that occured a few days ago, where at least two people were killed.
A new examination of deep quakes, as well as those taking place in ancient faults, will be part of a future blog post, as I examine "The 7 Hardships of 2012" on Our Current Earth. Please come back often to see new posts and visit a sponsor.
